The Residential Leasing Manager is responsible for leading a team of leasing associates to lease market rate apartments in their assigned building(s) and improve the overall financial performance of the assigned building(s). The Leasing Manager will work in a highly collaborative environment with other Leasing Managers and supervisor to ensure best practices and consistency exist portfoliowide. The Leasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the leasing staff and leasing of apartments, as well as the generation and associated analysis of reports documenting building performance and market conditions. The Residential Leasing Manager will increase revenue and retention while providing prospects and residents with best in class customer service experience.

Total Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 + Commission
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervising and overseeing the daily leasing and retention efforts of assigned building(s)
  • Ensure that the team follows the Company's standard operating procedures and complies with all existing policies. Manage a team of Leasing Associates
  • Prepare and submit monthly leasing and commission report to the SVP of Residential Leasing & Compliance as scheduled
  • Responsible for pricing, marketing and advertising available apartments and collaborating with the marketing department to ensure brand consistency and accuracy
  • Maintain awareness of competitive rental comparisons to help inform leasing and retention strategies
  • Ensure that the building and apartments are in excellent marketable condition by collaborating closely with the Property Management team
  • Actively coach and train the leasing team and administrative staff to promote a culture of caring and competency
  • Prepare all required reports for review and analysis in accordance with the scheduled provided by leadership
  • Prepare, maintain and analyze re-rental, renewal and variance reports
  • Review and approve lease applications and renewals based on existing SOP’s
  • Manage renewal process, pricing, and renewal lease generation
  • Provide hands on management of leasing professionals to include scheduling, performance reviews and training
  • Serve as a resource, advocate, and catalyst for sustainability at The Durst Organization. Apply the skills unique to your core job responsibilities for practical integration of sustainability into processes, standard operating procedures, and adopted business practices. Seek to empower our colleagues, consultants, tenants and residents to prioritize and actively engage in environmental stewardship
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year degree from accredited institution, preferably in business, sales or real estate, or industry experience relevant to the position
  • A current New York real estate agent license
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • A minimum of 2 years managing a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, on multiple projects
  • Proven problem-solver and strong planning, analysis and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with residential leasing in the New York City Class A market
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of budget and schedule creation and management
  • General understanding of rent stabilization laws and guidelines
  • Applied knowledge of software platforms such as Excel, Microsoft Office, CRM and onsite management systems
